Who Are We?
The Colorado Freelance Paralegal Network is devoted to the following principles:
-
Contribute to the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality legal services by promoting excellence, professional competence and ethical practice in the legal community.
-
Educate and inform members and the local legal community about issues, concerns, expertise and capabilities of freelance paralegals through topical discussions, free exchanges of information and ideas and speakers at CFPN meetings and other legal administrative forums, and by publishing articles and providing speakers to outside groups in the community.
-
Promote attorney use of freelance paralegals by maintaining a database of enrolled members for use in informal and fee-free referrals among members and the legal community.
Colorado Freelance Paralegal Network (CFPN) is a vehicle through which certain individual, independent small business owners advertise their individual paralegal services to the legal community. Members of this group are amongst the most experienced, qualified persons in the business, and would love the opportunity to help as the need arises.
With an average of 20 years experience working under the supervision of licensed attorneys, the paralegals of the Colorado Freelance Paralegal Network do not seek to become employees of a firm or corporation. CFPN freelancers are independent contractors, meeting the state and federal requirements to qualify as such.
As freelance paralegals, they offer expertise and assistance to attorneys located in law firms, corporate legal departments and government offices. They do not offer legal services directly to the public or to consumers.
